Information

FH Duo is a contemporary geometric sans serif family that reinterprets modernist typography through two distinct perspectives. The project is rooted in the contrast between Paul Renner’s humanized geometric approach in 'Futura' and Wim Crouwel’s system-driven, experimental mindset expressed in 'Neu Alphabet'. Rather than merging these references historically, FH Duo frames them as a timeless meeting of ideas.

The core structure of FH Duo is based on controlled proportions, optically balanced forms, and a calm typographic rhythm. Geometry is softened through optical adjustments, prioritizing clarity and readability. In the Display set, Crouwel’s influence becomes more pronounced through cut edges, mechanical terminals, and more graphic, system-oriented decisions.

The family is divided into FH Duo and FH Duo Display. FH Duo is designed for text and extended reading, offering a balanced and functional tone, while FH Duo Display provides a more expressive and experimental voice for headlines, identities, and visual statements. Sharing the same geometric foundation, the two subfamilies work together to create a coherent dialogue between human-centered form and systematic structure.
